Glazed Fabric Button Ring Tutorial

Fabric Button Rings
Your favorite fabric scraps in 2 x2 inch pieces
7/8 inch cover button kit
Triple Thick Brush on Gloss Glaze (or Outdoor Modge Podge might work well too)
Adjustable ring blanks WITH pads
Paint brush
Pliers
Rotary cutter and mat

First, pull the hooks for the back part of the buttons with a pair of pliers

To pull the hook off, squeeze and pull the hook with your pliers...they should pop right out.
Then, follow the instructions on the back of the button package to cover your button.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy!!

Then, get your Triple Thick Glaze out and paint one coat on your fabric. Wait 10 minutes and then do a second coat...then let dry for 24 hours before you finish putting your ring together.

I put some toothpicks in a styrofoam ball to hang my buttons to dry.

See, the empty hook holes make the perfect toothpick holders!!

After 24 hours of drying time, take your ring blank and dab some hot glue on the ring pad. Press your button on top and let dry till nice and tight.

Yup, right there on the ring pad...glue it up folks!

So pretty...

And customizable...

So cute huh? Worth a try? You may be getting these from me for birthday/Christmas gifts. Just a warning.. :)

I was thinking the other day what the definition of home is.
So I looked it up.

Home: a house, apartment, or other shelter that is the usual residence of a person, family, or household.

That is it?
That means my home could be Antarctica as long as I have shelter.. right?
Wrong.
I think home is different. You can have more then one home. And those homes include the people, school, all your surroundings.
I think I have 3.
Utah.
Arizona.
Texas.
And sometimes I miss some of my homes. Especially the people.
A lot.

And who knows? Maybe I will make a home in Antarctica someday. :)

True Beauty

"But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as a man seeth; for a man loooketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."

When I was reading my scriptures this morning I came to this scripture. It made me think. I thought about how the world sees women. Hair, Makeup, Clothes. And then I thought about how God sees women. He doesn't care about that... only the inside. I care about clothes, makeup, and hair. A lot. Maybe too much?

There is this show that I like to watch called True Beauty. The contestants on the show think they are being judged on how they look. But throughout the show there are hidden cameras watching how they treat other people. Sometimes the contestants are offered to cheat. In the end the contestants who have "True Beauty" win. Sometimes I think I am like these contestants... oblivious to what is going on. I am too focused on by outer beauty. The hidden cameras (Heavenly Father) aren't looking on my outer beauty. They are looking for my "True Beauty."

I kinda LOVE this girl.

I spent a week with her. An Entire week. EVERY moment together.
Sleepovers.
Swimming.
Shopping.
Watching cute chick flicks with Irish men.
Eating.
Texting.
Or just laying around doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
And you would think I would get sick of her right?
Wrong. NEVER. I could spend an entire month with this girl...
(except for the fact that I would become obese)
....and not get sick of her.
That says A LOT.
I love her.
And many guys do too... Considering we are going to EFY together in two days (another whole week with her beautiful face)
and EVERY single boy will fall in love with her.
You just wait. I will prove it.
So Brook? Thank you for putting up with me for an Entire week. Thank you for the wonderful surprise Party. Thank you for taking my stuff that couldnt fit in my suitcase. Thank you for loving me for who I am. And most of all?
Thank you for being my best friend.
I love you. Lots and lots. :)
